One of the hottest techniques in bass fishing today is the finesse presentation known as shaky head fishing. This rig consist of using light line on a spinning rod paired with a jig head and finesse worm lure offering. The jig heads I produce for this method have been in research and development since 2007, and after countless hook combinations, painting, and head designs I have developed what I feel is the best combination for this rig.
I use an Extra long eagle claw 574 light wire bronze hook, this enables you to get a better penetration on the hook set with lighter line. All sizes are paired with a 5/0 hook.
I also leave the head of the lure unpainted, after 3 years of testing different paint I discovered that you catch as many fish on the unpainted heads as you do on the higher priced finished lures.
Additional advantages to the natural finishes is that you no longer need to carry around a large assortment of colors.
Shakey head lures come in 6 sizes starting with: 1/16 oz., 1/8 oz., 3/16 oz., 1/4 oz., 5/16 oz., and 3/8 oz.
The Shake head jig are priced at:
25 Pack $7.25
100 Pack $26.37 Save 10%
Assortment Pack $36.25 Save 20%Contains 25 of each size
For Powder Paint Add: $0.10 for each jig head
Suggested lures for rigging :
Any 4 inch to 8 inch straight tail finesse worms work well. I suggest the Zoom finesse worm or the Zoom trick worm in any earth tone colors.
I'll also let you in on a little secret I also use a Zoom lil critter craw when fishing for small mouths.
Another secret also try a Zoom Baby Brush Hog.
